China Unveils CR450 Train Prototype with 450 km/h Test Speed

China has unveiled the prototype of the CR450 high-speed train, marking a significant advancement in rail technology. The train, capable of reaching a test speed of 450 kilometers per hour and an operational speed of 400 kilometers per hour, debuted in Beijing on December 29, 2024. Developed by the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the CR450 includes two models, CR450AF and CR450BF, and features innovations such as reduced running resistance, lighter weight, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced passenger comfort. The train incorporates intelligent systems for safety monitoring and passenger services, while also reducing interior noise levels. Once operational, the CR450 is set to become the fastest high-speed train in the world, surpassing the current CR400 Fuxing model. This development underscores China's leadership in high-speed rail technology.
