Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that China, Brazil, and India could act as mediators in potential peace talks over the conflict in Ukraine. Speaking at the 9th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Putin expressed trust and confidence in these countries' abilities to provide a helping hand in resolving the conflict. He also mentioned that a preliminary agreement had been reached between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in the early weeks of the war during talks in Istanbul. Putin reiterated that Russia has never refused peace talks with Ukraine and emphasized the importance of the Istanbul agreement as a basis for future negotiations.
