Man Sentenced to Life for Attempted Assassination of Russian Writer Zakhar Prilepin

A Russian court has sentenced Alexander Permyakov to life imprisonment for his role in a car bombing that targeted nationalist writer Zakhar Prilepin. Permyakov was convicted of carrying out a terrorist act while allegedly working on behalf of Ukraine. The attack resulted in the death of a Russian National Guard officer and injuries to Prilepin. The court found that Permyakov attempted to assassinate Prilepin by placing an explosive device under his vehicle.
