Turkey Strongly Condemns Israel's Entry into Buffer Zone; Israel Denies Violations

On December 10, 2024, the Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israel's violation of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement by entering the buffer zone between Israel and Syria and advancing into Syrian territory. In a statement, the ministry emphasized that at this sensitive time when the Syrian people have been longing for peace and stability, Israel is displaying its occupier mentality once again. Israel denies that its forces have crossed into Syrian territory.
