Putin Ratifies Mutual Defense Treaty with North Korea Including Military Assistance

Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially ratified the 'Treaty on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and North Korea', solidifying a mutual defense pact between the two nations. The agreement, which includes provisions for mutual military assistance in the event of aggression, was initially signed in June by Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. On Saturday, Russia's parliament ratified the treaty, which may also open the possibility of joint military exercises.
