Nvidia and Sherwin-Williams to Join Dow Jones on November 8th, Shares Rise

Nvidia and Sherwin-Williams are set to join the Dow Jones Industrial Average, replacing Intel and DuPont. This change will take effect on November 8th. Sherwin-Williams shares rose 5.03% in premarket trading, while Nvidia saw a 2% increase. Sherwin-Williams will take up the 10th spot on the DJIA by weight at $278 per share. Nvidia will also have a significant weight in the index. Investors, however, should be cautious as historical data shows that 10 of the last 18 additions to the index have seen declines.
