Semiconductor sales in the Americas have surpassed those in China for the first time in over five years, reaching $15.4 billion in July, a 40.1% year-over-year increase, according to data compiled by the Semiconductor Industry Association. This milestone comes as global semiconductor sales hit $51.3 billion, an 18.7% increase from last year. The surge in sales in the Americas is part of a broader trend, with China and much of Asia also seeing gains, although Japan and Europe experienced declines.
