VisitUnion Health Ministry to Form Safety Committee After Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder
Aug 17, 2024, 08:43 AM
The Union Health Ministry of India has assured healthcare professionals that it will take all possible measures to ensure their safety. This assurance comes in response to concerns raised by the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), and Resident Doctors’ Associations of Governmental Medical Colleges and Hospitals in Delhi. The Ministry has announced the formation of a committee to suggest measures for enhancing the safety of healthcare professionals. This decision follows the recent Kolkata doctor rape-murder case, which has heightened concerns about the safety of medical staff.
