Meta Platforms Inc. is offering Hollywood celebrities millions of dollars to license their voices for AI projects, according to sources including Lucas Shaw from Bloomberg. The initiative, expected to be announced in the fall, involves negotiations with prominent actors such as Judi Dench, Awkwafina, and Keegan-Michael Key. The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has agreed to the terms of the deal. This new AI voice product, named MetaAI, will allow users to interact with chatbots using the voices of these celebrities. Meta has declined to comment on the matter.
