ABC News/Ipsos Poll: Harris Leads Trump by 6 Points Nationally, Battleground States Show Mixed Results
Sep 1, 2024, 12:48 PM
The race for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump remains highly competitive, with polls showing varying results. According to an ABC News/Ipsos poll, Harris leads Trump by 6 points nationally, with a 52% to 46% margin among likely voters. However, other polls, such as those conducted by Nate Silver and Rasmussen, indicate Trump has gained an edge in several battleground states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Harris is reportedly performing well in key swing states like Michigan, where she has erased much of Trump's previous lead. The gender gap appears to be widening, with Harris holding a significant lead among female voters. Despite a lack of a post-convention bounce for Harris, her favorability ratings have improved, especially among younger voters. A Quinnipiac University poll shows Harris leading Trump by a slim 2% difference.
