Alibaba Unifies Taobao, Tmall, AliExpress, and Lazada Under New E-Commerce Group Led by Jiang Fan
Nov 21, 2024, 10:41 AM
Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. is consolidating all its domestic and international e-commerce operations under a single business group, the Alibaba E-Commerce Business Group, in a strategic move to enhance global supply chain synergies and better compete amid intensifying competition. The new group will integrate platforms such as Taobao, Tmall, AliExpress, Lazada, and others, covering the entire industry chain both domestically and internationally. Jiang Fan, the current head of Alibaba's International Digital Commerce unit (AIDC) and former head of Tmall who was demoted in 2020 following an online scandal, has been appointed to lead the new group and will report directly to Alibaba Group CEO Eddie Wu. The reorganization aims to create a business cluster that unifies Alibaba's e-commerce platforms under one umbrella for the first time.
