Australian authorities have arrested and charged a Russian-born married couple with espionage. The couple, residing in Brisbane, Queensland, includes an Australian Defence Force (ADF) army private and an information systems technician in the Australian Army. They are accused of obtaining ADF material to share with Russian authorities. The arrests followed a joint investigation by the ADF and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO). The woman allegedly undertook non-declared travel to Russia and instructed her husband to access the sensitive defence material from their home.
