The announcement was made during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79). The outbreak, which has spread from the Democratic Republic of Congo to neighboring countries, has prompted this significant response from the U.S. administration. The funds and vaccines are intended to bolster the efforts in controlling the spread of the virus and to provide critical support for the affected regions, which are dealing with around 30,000 cases.
