Golden State Valkyries Name Natalie Nakase as First Asian-American Head Coach

The Golden State Valkyries have appointed Natalie Nakase as their inaugural head coach. Nakase, who will begin her tenure on October 21, brings a wealth of experience, having spent 16 years coaching professional basketball. She recently completed three seasons as an assistant coach with the Las Vegas Aces, where she contributed to back-to-back WNBA Championships. Nakase also has a decade of experience in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers. Additionally, she has a background with Marina High and UCLA. This appointment marks a historic milestone as Nakase becomes the first Asian-American woman to hold a head coach title in the WNBA.
