OpenAI is set to integrate its new web search tool, SearchGPT, into ChatGPT by the end of 2024. Initially launched as a prototype in July, SearchGPT enhances ChatGPT's capabilities by providing real-time search results alongside conversational AI features, allowing users to receive direct answers, summaries, and contextual insights rather than just a list of links. The rollout of SearchGPT is currently limited to users in the United States, and it is also being made available on the ChatGPT iOS app. In addition to SearchGPT, OpenAI has introduced widgets for weather and stock information, further expanding the utility of ChatGPT. The company is also establishing a new office in Singapore to support its growth and AI ambitions in the region.
