OpenAI Proposes Massive 5-Gigawatt Data Centers to White House and Biden Administration

OpenAI has proposed to the White House and the Biden administration the construction of massive data centers, each with a power capacity of 5 gigawatts, equivalent to the energy consumption of entire cities. This proposal aims to support advanced AI projects and maintain U.S. leadership in AI. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met with White House officials earlier this month to discuss the plan.
