Jul 2, 2024, 09:04 PM
NASA has awarded SpaceX a $69 million contract to provide launch services for the COSI (Compton Spectrometer and Imager) mission. The firm-fixed-price contract includes launch services and other mission-related costs. The COSI telescope, a wide-field gamma-ray telescope, is scheduled to be launched in August 2027. Falcon 9 was selected to launch the COSI telescope, which aims to enhance our understanding of the creation and destruction of matter, antimatter, and the final stages of stars.
