Don Lemon Sues Elon Musk and X Over Canceled $1.5 Million Content Deal
Aug 1, 2024, 03:15 PM
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and the social media platform X, alleging fraud and breach of contract. The lawsuit claims that Musk had agreed to pay Lemon $1.5 million annually to produce shows exclusively on X, with $200,000 paid up-front and the remainder in quarterly installments. The deal, which included additional incentives such as performance payments, advertising credits, and revenue from referrals, fell apart after a contentious interview. Lemon's complaint states that despite the absence of a formal signed contract, Musk assured him that there was no need for paperwork. The lawsuit also accuses Musk and X of negligent misrepresentation and misappropriation of Lemon’s name and likeness.
