Shohei Ohtani Undergoes Successful Surgery for Labrum Tear, Expected to be Ready for Spring Training
Nov 5, 2024, 11:19 PM
Shohei Ohtani, the two-way player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday to repair a labrum tear in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. The injury occurred during Game 2 of the World Series on October 26, when Ohtani suffered a dislocation while sliding into second base on a stolen-base attempt. The surgery, performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, addressed a more serious injury than initially described. The Dodgers have announced that Ohtani is expected to be ready for Spring Training.
