Democrat LaMonica McIver has won the special election for New Jersey's 10th Congressional District, filling the seat left vacant by the late Rep. Donald Payne Jr. McIver, who serves as Newark City Council President, defeated Republican Carmen Bucco. The election saw McIver leading with a significant margin, with early and mail-in votes showing her ahead by 87% to 9%. The final results indicated McIver winning by 65.2 points, surpassing the district's previous Democratic margin of 62.5 points from the 2020 Presidential Election. This victory makes McIver the eighth Congresswoman in New Jersey's history. Votes were reported from Essex, Union, and Hudson counties.
