Juan Soto Signs Record $765 Million, 15-Year Deal with Mets, Largest in Sports History
Dec 9, 2024, 03:38 AM
Superstar outfielder Juan Soto and the New York Mets have agreed to a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million contract, according to multiple reports. The deal, which includes a $75 million signing bonus and reportedly has no deferred money, is the largest in professional sports history and more than double the largest guarantee the Mets have ever given. The 26-year-old, a four-time MLB All-Star, surpasses previous records to secure the biggest contract in Major League Baseball, exceeding Shohei Ohtani's $700 million deal. The agreement significantly surpasses an offer from the Yankees, who had reportedly proposed a 16-year, $760 million contract.
