Georgia Court Sets December 2024 Hearing for Trump’s Election Interference Appeal to Disqualify DA Fani Willis
Jul 16, 2024, 08:39 PM
The Georgia Court of Appeals has scheduled oral arguments for December 5, 2024, in the case involving former President Donald Trump’s effort to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from prosecuting the election interference case. This case, which alleges Trump illegally sought to overturn the state's 2020 presidential election results, will now proceed past the November 2024 election. The hearing will address whether DA Willis should be removed due to a past relationship. A panel of three judges will hear the appeal. If Trump wins re-election, the case may be postponed until at least 2029.
