Delta Air Lines reported a strong performance for the fourth quarter of 2024, with adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.85, surpassing analyst estimates of $1.76 and reflecting a year-over-year increase of 45%. The airline's revenue for the quarter reached $14.44 billion, exceeding expectations of $14.16 billion and marking a 5.7% increase compared to the previous year. Passenger revenue contributed $12.82 billion, also above estimates. For the first quarter of 2025, Delta has guided an adjusted EPS range of $0.70 to $1.00, slightly below the estimate of $0.76. Looking ahead to the full year, Delta anticipates an adjusted EPS exceeding $7.35, compared to the estimate of $7.45, and expects free cash flow to exceed $4 billion. Following the earnings report, Delta's shares rose by approximately 3.4% as the airline's CEO expressed optimism that 2025 could be the best financial year in the company’s history, driven by growth in premium travel.
