The cryptocurrency climbed from $96,000, hitting price milestones at $97,000, $98,500, and $99,000 before surpassing $100,000 for the sixth time. This rally follows the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase to 2.9% for December, ahead of President Trump's inauguration. Core CPI rose 0.4% month-over-month, slightly above the prior month's pace. Bitcoin had briefly dipped below $90,000 the previous week but rebounded strongly as investors reacted positively to the inflation report.
