Basmanny District Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Yulia Navalnaya on Extremism Charges
Jul 9, 2024, 04:04 PM
A Moscow court has issued an arrest warrant for Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, on charges of participating in an extremist organization. The Basmanny district court in Moscow has arrested Navalnaya in absentia and declared her wanted. Navalnaya, who currently lives outside of Russia, has been ordered to be arrested for a period of two months. The charges are believed to be related to her involvement with her late husband's Anti-Corruption Foundation. In response to the warrant, Navalnaya criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a murderer and a war criminal.
