Turkey's Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced ambitious plans for the country's energy sector, aiming to supply natural gas to 20 million households by 2028. During a ceremony in Sivas province, Bayraktar emphasized that by 2028, Turkey will utilize its own natural gas, marking a step towards energy independence. He stated, 'Inshallah, we will be able to use our own natural gas in 20 million households in Türkiye.' Additionally, Turkey plans to invest over $20 billion in energy efficiency projects by 2030, underscoring the importance of efficiency for sustainable development and climate change mitigation. The country is also intensifying its oil and natural gas exploration activities to achieve its goal of becoming fully independent in energy production.
