Trump Wins 2024 Election, Flips 60+ Counties Including Hispanic Strongholds
Nov 9, 2024, 08:36 PM
Donald Trump secured a comprehensive victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, improving his performance across several key demographics, particularly among Hispanic voters. Trump flipped more than 60 counties from blue to red compared to 2020, including 10 counties in Texas such as Williamson and Tarrant, increasing his victory margin. In Starr County, a majority-Hispanic area along the U.S.-Mexico border that hasn't voted Republican in over 100 years, Trump won decisively by 57.7% to 41.8% over Vice President Kamala Harris. This marks a significant shift, as Trump had previously lost Starr County by 60% in 2016 and by 5% in 2020, before winning by 16% in 2024. Trump's gains among Hispanic voters were seen across several states, including flipping Puerto Rican areas in Pennsylvania and winning South Texas' Rio Grande Valley, shifting traditional Democratic strongholds. Trump is set to meet with Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, symbolizing the transition of power.
