Wizards Trade Deni Avdija to Trail Blazers for Malcolm Brogdon, 14th Overall Pick, 2029 First-Round Pick
Jun 26, 2024, 10:54 PM
The Washington Wizards have traded forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers. In exchange, the Wizards will receive guard Malcolm Brogdon, the 14th overall pick in tonight's NBA Draft, and a 2029 first-round pick. Additionally, the Wizards will receive two second-round picks in 2028 and 2030. Avdija, a 6-foot-9 small forward who was the No. 9 pick in the 2020 draft and signed a four-year $55 million extension last offseason, will join the Trail Blazers. Brogdon, on an expiring $22.5 million contract, will head to Washington. This trade cannot be completed until July 6 due to the poison pill restriction in Avdija's contract. The move helps Portland fall below the luxury tax threshold.
