Florida GOP Outpaces Democrats with $13M Fundraising Lead, R+14 Turnout
Aug 27, 2024, 09:10 AM
The Florida Republican Party has significantly outpaced the Democrats in both fundraising and voter registration. Since April, the Florida GOP has raised over $13 million more than the Democrats, according to financial reports. Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power highlighted that the party has registered one million more voters than the Democrats, with a recent gain of 50,000 new voters since July 31, compared to the Democrats' 27,000. Power expressed hope that the R+14 turnout in the primaries would carry through to the general elections in November. These developments come amid discussions about whether the GOP's growth in Florida is a result of a genuine shift or voter suppression tactics.
