MetaMask has announced the launch of its blockchain-based debit card, developed in partnership with Mastercard and Baanx. The MetaMask Card is described as the world’s first Mastercard debit card that allows users to spend cryptocurrency directly from their self-custody wallets. Initially available to a limited set of users in the EU and UK, the card is exclusively on Linea Mainnet and aims to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and everyday spending. Built on scalable Layer 2's that settle to Ethereum, this initiative highlights the growing integration of blockchain technology into traditional financial systems.
