Bitwise Files for Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF with SEC, Targeting Companies Holding 1,000 BTC and 25% Weighting Cap
Dec 26, 2024, 11:23 PM
Bitwise Asset Management has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF. The proposed fund aims to provide exposure to stocks of companies that have adopted the Bitcoin standard, defined as holding at least 1,000 Bitcoin in their corporate treasury. The ETF will impose a cap of 25% on the maximum weighting of any single stock during quarterly rebalancing. This move follows a broader trend among firms to integrate Bitcoin into their treasury strategies, reflecting growing institutional interest in cryptocurrency investments.
