Israeli Airstrikes Hit Deep in Lebanon's Hermel District: 7 Airstrikes, 5 Killed
Jun 10, 2024, 09:18 PM
Israeli airstrikes have targeted the Hermel District in northeastern Lebanon, marking the deepest strikes in Lebanon since the beginning of the conflict. The attacks, reported to have hit multiple targets, come in response to numerous Hezbollah attacks on northern Israel and the downing of an IDF drone. More than seven airstrikes occurred near the Syrian border, resulting in three massive explosions throughout the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate and reportedly targeting Hezbollah-linked positions and residential clusters. An air defense missile launched from southern Syria during the strikes went off course and struck a house under construction in the Akkar District. The airstrikes have resulted in five fatalities, with some reports indicating that three of the deceased are Syrians.
