Spain has formally recognized Edmundo González Urrutia as the elected and legitimate president of Venezuela, aligning with the country's Congress. The Spanish Senate's decision on September 18 received a standing ovation from a large majority of senators. Additionally, the European Parliament has called for an international arrest warrant for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and has also recognized the exiled González as the legitimate president.
