The company will begin testing its driverless vehicles in Miami in 2025, utilizing a fleet partnership with the fintech company Moove. This initiative is part of Waymo's strategy to provide safe and accessible electric vehicle transportation options in the region. The expansion to Miami follows Waymo's existing operations in other cities and is seen as a move to compete directly with ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft, both of which experienced a decline in stock prices following the announcement. Waymo's service will be accessible through its Waymo One app, with paid rides expected to be available to local users by 2026.
