Over 1,000 Hezbollah Members Injured in Lebanon Cyberattack
Sep 17, 2024, 02:01 PM
In a major incident on September 17, 2024, hundreds of Hezbollah members across Lebanon were injured after their communication devices, including handheld pagers, exploded. Reports indicate that the explosions were the result of a cyberattack allegedly carried out by Israel. The devices, used for encrypted internal communication, caused widespread injuries and fatalities, especially in Beirut’s Dahieh and southern Lebanon. Over 1,000 people were reported injured, with at least five critically wounded. The explosions also affected the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon and his bodyguards. Similar incidents were reported in Damascus. Lebanese hospitals are facing blood shortages due to the high number of casualties.
