Neil Gaiman Accused of Sexual Assault by Eight Women, Projects Halted
Jan 13, 2025, 11:40 PM
Multiple women have accused Neil Gaiman, the acclaimed author of 'The Sandman' and 'American Gods,' of sexual assault and abuse. The allegations, detailed in a New York Magazine cover story, involve eight women, including four who had previously spoken out in a Tortoise Media podcast. One accuser, Scarlett Pavlovich, who worked as a nanny for Gaiman's son, alleges that Gaiman assaulted her in a bathtub and during other incidents in New Zealand. Another woman, Kendra Stout, claims Gaiman forced her into rough sex despite her objections due to a urinary tract infection. The youngest accuser was 18 years old at the time of the alleged assault. Gaiman's representatives have denied the allegations, asserting that all encounters were consensual and involved non-consensual BDSM practices. Some of the women had signed non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). The accusations have led to the pausing or cancellation of several of Gaiman's projects, including Disney's adaptation of 'The Graveyard Book' and the third season of Amazon's 'Good Omens,' which will now conclude with a 90-minute episode. Gaiman's ex-wife, Amanda Palmer, was mentioned in connection with some of the allegations.
