Supreme Court Orders IIT Delhi Panel to Review NEET-UG 2024 Physics Question, Impacting 3.5 Lakh Top Scorers
Jul 22, 2024, 11:19 AM
The Supreme Court has intervened in the NEET-UG 2024 examination controversy, directing the Director of IIT Delhi to form a panel of three subject experts to determine the correct answer to a disputed Physics question. This decision follows petitions from students challenging the National Testing Agency's (NTA) decision to award marks for only one correct answer when there were allegedly two correct answers. The court has asked the panel to submit their report by Tuesday noon. The outcome of this review could potentially affect the final merit list of the examination, impacting 3.5 lakh top scorers. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta is set to argue on behalf of the NTA in the ongoing hearings, which include disputes over Question No 19 and Question No 29.
