180 Nighttime Drone Sightings Over New Jersey; Pentagon Denies Iranian Connection
Dec 12, 2024, 03:32 PM
Residents and officials in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania are reporting mysterious nighttime drone sightings over sensitive locations, including military installations such as the Picatinny Arsenal and Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster. The drones, described as large—some as big as SUVs or school buses—appear to avoid detection by traditional methods. Sightings have increased, with reports of up to 180 drones per night flying over power lines and suburban neighborhoods. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is receiving a classified briefing on the matter, calling the drones "a quandary." Congressman Jeff Van Drew suggested that the drones may be launched from an "Iranian mothership" offshore, a claim denied by Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh, who stated the drones are "not U.S. military" and there's no evidence they're from a foreign adversary. Governor Phil Murphy advised residents not to worry but acknowledged that no one is providing answers. Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating the incidents. A Facebook group aimed at identifying the drones has grown to over 30,000 users. Senator Cory Booker expressed frustration over the lack of transparency, emphasizing the need for information about what's happening in the skies.
