Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh Enforce New Food Safety Regulations, Says PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh
Sep 25, 2024, 09:12 AM
Uttar Pradesh has mandated that outlet owners display their details and enforce strict food safety norms in response to recent spitting incidents. The state has also required chefs and waiters to wear masks and gloves, and installed CCTVs at all eateries. Following Uttar Pradesh's example, Himachal Pradesh has decided to monitor eateries and mandate that street vendors display their names and addresses. The Himachal Pradesh government, led by the Congress party, has ordered food vendors and restaurants throughout the state to comply with these new regulations to ensure hygienic food is sold. PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh stated that the decision was made after a meeting with the UD and Municipal Corporation.
