C Spire Pulls Ads from 2024 Paris Olympics Over Mockery of Last Supper in Opening Ceremony
Jul 27, 2024, 07:49 PM
C Spire, a major American telecommunications company based in Mississippi and the sixth-largest wireless provider in the United States, has pulled all its advertising from the 2024 Paris Olympics. The decision follows backlash over the opening ceremony, which included a performance perceived as mocking the Last Supper, a significant event in Christianity, and displaying satanic imagery. The company's official statement expressed shock at the depiction, leading to their immediate withdrawal from the event. In response to the controversy, the official Olympics YouTube account has also removed the video of the opening ceremony.
