World No. 1 Golfer Scottie Scheffler Detained by Police at Valhalla, Tee Time Rescheduled to 10:08 AM
May 17, 2024, 11:43 AM
World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was detained by Louisville Metro Police early Friday morning outside Valhalla Golf Club, where he was attempting to enter for the second round of the PGA Championship. The incident occurred after Scheffler did not follow police instructions during a traffic jam caused by a fatal accident involving a pedestrian. Scheffler was handcuffed and placed into a police vehicle. The misunderstanding with traffic flow led to the altercation, and Scheffler's tee time has been rescheduled to 10:08 AM as officials work to resolve the situation. ESPN's Jeff Darlington reported that all tee times at the PGA Championship on Friday have been pushed by 80 minutes due to the incident.
