Kennedy revealed that he received a letter from the institute notifying him of the investigation. The incident in question involves Kennedy allegedly cutting off the head of a dead whale with a chainsaw and transporting it across state lines. Notably, Kennedy had previously admitted to dumping a bear cub in Central Park, and one of his daughters described in a 2012 article that her father cut the head off a dead whale that had washed ashore and bungee-corded it to the family's car.
