NC GOP Candidate Mark Robinson Faces Backlash Over 'Black Nazi' Comments in CNN Report
Sep 19, 2024, 07:33 PM
North Carolina's Republican gubernatorial candidate, Mark Robinson, is facing significant backlash following a CNN report that revealed he made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website's message board, Nude Africa, between 2008 and 2012. The report alleges that Robinson referred to himself as a 'Black Nazi,' expressed support for reinstating slavery, and made other racially and sexually explicit remarks, including discussing his interest in transgender pornography and peeping inside women’s locker rooms. Despite the controversy, Robinson has denied the allegations, labeling them as 'salacious tabloid trash,' and insists he will not drop out of the race. His spokesperson, Michael Lonergan, reiterated that Robinson is 'certainly not' dropping out. The GOP is reportedly pressuring Robinson to withdraw, as polls show him trailing by over 10 points. Prominent figures, including NC Sen. Ted Budd, have expressed concern over the allegations. Robinson compared himself to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, claiming he is the victim of a 'high-tech lynching.'
