Dr. Javed Akhtar was shot dead inside Nima Hospital in Delhi's Jaitpur area, under the jurisdiction of the Kalindi Kunj Police Station, in the early hours of today. The incident occurred around 1:45 AM when two individuals, reportedly aged 16 to 17, arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for a toe injury. After receiving dressing, they requested to meet Dr. Akhtar in his cabin. Once inside, they opened fire, fatally wounding him. Hospital staff discovered Dr. Akhtar in a pool of blood after hearing gunshots. Delhi Police are investigating the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. The shooting has raised concerns about the safety of medical professionals.
