65-Year-Old Golfer Beaten to Death with Own Clubs at Florida Course; Suspect Boucher Arrested
Nov 27, 2024, 01:00 PM
Florida authorities have arrested a Loxahatchee man, identified as Boucher, in connection with the fatal attack on 65-year-old golfer Brian Hiltebeitel at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens. On Monday, Hiltebeitel, originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, was allegedly beaten to death with his own golf clubs by Boucher in what police describe as a "random act of violence." According to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Boucher assaulted Hiltebeitel on the first hole of the course, striking him with golf clubs and then holding his head underwater in a nearby pond. Witnesses reported hearing the victim shouting, "He's trying to kill me," as he attempted to flee from the attacker. The suspect, who was reportedly half-naked during the incident, has been taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder.
