CVS Caremark has quietly agreed to pay $45 million to the state of Illinois to settle allegations that it failed to pass drug rebates through to consumers over a recent four-year period. The settlement addresses claims that CVS's pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) inappropriately pocketed drug rebates through a subsidiary known as Zinc, a 'rebate aggregator,' according to a document obtained by STAT.
