British Columbia Ends Four-Year COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and Lifts Vaccine Mandates
Jul 26, 2024, 06:22 PM
British Columbia's top public health official, Dr. Bonnie Henry, has officially ended the COVID-19 public health emergency in the province, effective immediately. This marks the conclusion of a state of emergency that had been in place since March 2020, lasting four years. Alongside this, vaccine mandates for healthcare workers have also been lifted, allowing previously fired health care workers to return to their jobs. The decision comes just days after the BC Conservatives promised to end the health care mandate, and with a provincial election scheduled in three months.
