Ohio's Octagon Earthworks to Become Public Park After Financial Settlement
Aug 2, 2024, 04:30 PM
A settlement has been reached in a years-long legal dispute over the Octagon Earthworks in Ohio, a site constructed by Native Americans about 2,000 years ago for tracking the movement of the sun and moon. The financial settlement will allow the site, which had been used as a golf course by a private country club, to become a public park. The Ohio Historical Society announced it will take control of the ancient ceremonial and burial earthworks site.
