Indonesia and China’s CATL to Invest $1.2 Billion in Battery Production, Tesla to Receive Nickel-Based Material

Indonesia announced a joint venture with China’s CATL to invest $1.2 billion in battery production in the country. China’s Great Power Energy plans to invest USD140 million in a lithium battery project. Tesla will receive Indonesia's first exports to the United States of nickel-based material for EV batteries by next month, according to energy minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
