Russian Missile Attack on Kyiv and Other Cities with 40 Missiles Hits Children's Hospital, 7 Dead
Jul 8, 2024, 08:28 AM
On July 8, 2024, Russia launched a massive missile attack on multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Slovyansk, and Kramatorsk. The attack involved various types of missiles, including Kalibr, Kinzhal, and Kh-101 cruise missiles. In Kyiv, the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital was severely damaged, resulting in at least seven deaths and numerous injuries. The Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept some missiles, but several hit their targets, causing significant damage to residential buildings and infrastructure. The attack occurred during the morning rush hour, and air raid alerts were issued nationwide. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that over 40 missiles were fired in this assault. In Kryvyi Rih, at least 10 people were killed and 31 injured. The attacks have drawn widespread condemnation and calls for increased international support for Ukraine. Emergency services were dispatched to the Solomyanskyi District in Kyiv, where debris from the missile strikes was found. Children were among those affected by the attacks.
